I'm torn up. I'm sure everyone has seen the pictures of Colorado Springs on Facebook or on some other social or news site. The Springs was my home for the majority of my growing up years. It was the first and only place where I had 3 best friends that I spent my every waking moment with. I look back on my years spent in CO as some of the best moments in my life. Aimee, Natalie, Suzanne and I wreaked havoc everywhere we went. Whether we were making mudpies in Suzanne's backyard, or exploring the great wide world at Aimee and Natalie's house, or tormenting our siblings! We always had fun. And of course there was plenty of fighting with eachother! That will happen when you have four chiefs and no indians! But there was always plenty of fun to be had and boys to talk about! For as often as I may say "I don't want to move back there". I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. And I have many treasured friends still there. Now to see that a good part of my city is on fire just breaks my heart. I worry for my friends and family that are there, and i mourn this city that I loved. Places I went to as a child are either burning or threatened by fire now. I pray for safety and I pray for mercy. God please send rain! Take care of your people! Let them walk through this fire unscathed!<br />

Yes, I have been a blogger slacker. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Let's call it a slump, or writer's block. Whatever it is, it's over. I'm back! And with resolve! I will be better at this. And to show that, I have given my page a face lift! What do you think? I'm so computer illiterate. I may need some outside help to make this look nicer.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyhoo...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I should probably update everybody! So, here's all the stuff I've spun since getting my wheel:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Kv2nMcvUax_5MBx56172iKSaURQEQoHMQLGmxPMyBKrYwTWTxisowhF6ZKKoUkrnKrPzuEUb4QbTmpw4Nwf40Lxi_F-Wymi5LPjEjWzxXir-r_M76c4F2qefc6PT-cDucGqbIoQDYs_g/s1600/IMG_1637.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Kv2nMcvUax_5MBx56172iKSaURQEQoHMQLGmxPMyBKrYwTWTxisowhF6ZKKoUkrnKrPzuEUb4QbTmpw4Nwf40Lxi_F-Wymi5LPjEjWzxXir-r_M76c4F2qefc6PT-cDucGqbIoQDYs_g/s320/IMG_1637.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This skein is Superwash Merino/Acrylic and it's a single ply and probably DK or Sport weight, and I have about 177 yds of it. I'm thinking I'll dye it and then ply it with a heavy thread that I got from my step mother in law.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAXi6ShsdWQ9W38Q149PeJ9ocUna4yBDbeXlF5ld4MnKfdyFw4HlFBw2O3f9rS52cgQ2Zioj5CdQho7xuoMpUPgYcbCTSIXsqlg1G_o_7d_-dFsAxGUXKfgcREbVlcl2v9TdIjw-Dk2xnw/s1600/IMG_1638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAXi6ShsdWQ9W38Q149PeJ9ocUna4yBDbeXlF5ld4MnKfdyFw4HlFBw2O3f9rS52cgQ2Zioj5CdQho7xuoMpUPgYcbCTSIXsqlg1G_o_7d_-dFsAxGUXKfgcREbVlcl2v9TdIjw-Dk2xnw/s320/IMG_1638.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This skein is also Superwash Merino/Acrylic, and it's a 2 ply, and it is definitely a Bulky weight. I have 70 yards. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUDLC5R8gRCkrvooUXPqF-NUHVcIM-JkTwUwEy1dO-RPKmeEpYzmmn9PMxhpG6kHgXgaiZCF-gS_EzKlnI2pdwoFcqC5UnXUWQDXsHbNQuW3z547G7teiNbbtwRWz_LDp8ytIm79T0K_KJ/s1600/IMG_1639.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUDLC5R8gRCkrvooUXPqF-NUHVcIM-JkTwUwEy1dO-RPKmeEpYzmmn9PMxhpG6kHgXgaiZCF-gS_EzKlnI2pdwoFcqC5UnXUWQDXsHbNQuW3z547G7teiNbbtwRWz_LDp8ytIm79T0K_KJ/s320/IMG_1639.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This yarn is Corriedale sheep. It is Navajo plied (3 ply), in a Worsted weight and I have about 233 yards. I love this skein. It is my favorite so far!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSMzD1rfkLYoV8pAESMt-AypBitdp4IRKJerNKNJSZenIBG0LaSqX61Nx0jszQ3tf1yfAsAfJIxNvCOcVcYvPKQJhSSkPJyGpCntFb3cKF0NT52-j3xnbF3qRcKbmDS89lIQCSEThcwkQ/s1600/IMG_1640.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSMzD1rfkLYoV8pAESMt-AypBitdp4IRKJerNKNJSZenIBG0LaSqX61Nx0jszQ3tf1yfAsAfJIxNvCOcVcYvPKQJhSSkPJyGpCntFb3cKF0NT52-j3xnbF3qRcKbmDS89lIQCSEThcwkQ/s320/IMG_1640.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This yarn is some Alpaca that my mother in law got me. (Are you noticing a trend? My mothers in law are pretty involved in my hobby! I love it!) They are 2 ply yarns in a Bulky weight. I can't for the life of me remember the yardage. (bad me!) But that's ok, this skein is promised to my mom in law to make a cowl. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of course, I haven't stopped knitting! Here's some of the projects I've been working on:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjuEBfSVDs1CepzrNk4lrG6nQ6gxxCe6EQK-93IjJB7hIoIja5IuRvrQ1Dmc1RXX1iy2-DDAIHH_EEtZFHlA9Y9ryEZ6vuvU-JpP2r5OurUIEe6jeTrfVuDtFJkByC-viMWRbwGEDdRw2T/s1600/IMG_1115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjuEBfSVDs1CepzrNk4lrG6nQ6gxxCe6EQK-93IjJB7hIoIja5IuRvrQ1Dmc1RXX1iy2-DDAIHH_EEtZFHlA9Y9ryEZ6vuvU-JpP2r5OurUIEe6jeTrfVuDtFJkByC-viMWRbwGEDdRw2T/s320/IMG_1115.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are some fingerless mitts that I made my hubby. (He only got to wear them a couple times because our winter was unbelievably tame!) They are made from Eco Duo Yarn. I love that yarn it is so soft! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3fsk2peDlx3P_oNTflv3np5dnDRjh8FLEAbGZokrLbDBMEEQwcoICzIhBkDQgSY3mgSclsPV-zw_6HC3dsKqhTBqB0Y5-06m4ac90TFSTpBx4m8-URJFQywKyhw2rSZ-uI6qsW47SrNzf/s1600/IMG_1356.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3fsk2peDlx3P_oNTflv3np5dnDRjh8FLEAbGZokrLbDBMEEQwcoICzIhBkDQgSY3mgSclsPV-zw_6HC3dsKqhTBqB0Y5-06m4ac90TFSTpBx4m8-URJFQywKyhw2rSZ-uI6qsW47SrNzf/s320/IMG_1356.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Finally finished my Dahlia sweater! I'm in love! Although if I were to make it again, I'd change the placing of the arm holes. As it is, they are a little low (my fault not the pattern's), I'd bring them up just a tad. But I am pleased over all! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizfjF8awQYP1kgNms2OmFrgp312hVl7_0oLVi7_2ooY0YqSDly0-n6PEawXnm8wvhANNfimGiEvDBbcX_AYu68phDu526QXQZu0t6Kjn1Jc8hkJEpXMXTuBCbc999L1rA7R8C5RKD01KWe/s1600/IMG_1364.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizfjF8awQYP1kgNms2OmFrgp312hVl7_0oLVi7_2ooY0YqSDly0-n6PEawXnm8wvhANNfimGiEvDBbcX_AYu68phDu526QXQZu0t6Kjn1Jc8hkJEpXMXTuBCbc999L1rA7R8C5RKD01KWe/s320/IMG_1364.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My high school best friend just had a baby!! After 5 or 6 years of trying to conceive they did it! She was born about a month ago. So, I made this little bunny hat out of Caron worsted weight yarn. I love it! So cute!!</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cast on an infinity cowl for my step mother in law out of this bobble yarn. It's about half finished and I have it on time out. I just needed a break from the bobbles. But I'll pick it back up soon!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is my Sewanee shawl. I found it on Ravelry.com. I used a sock yarn, and it took just one skein! I love it, but alas, I still need to block it! I'm procrastinating! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Summertime Bubble top from Ravelry. I used a Cotton/Acrylic blend yarn. My baby girl looks stunning in it! I will definitely be making this top again!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

So, as you can see on top of school, spinning, knitting, and kids, I've been a busy lady! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm excited for what's coming up. I just come home from the Iowa Sheep and Fiber Festival and I got lots of goodies! So stay tuned!!</div>

I HAVE THE BEST FAMILY IN THE WORLD!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(consider this shouting it from the rooftops!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Because of them, I am now the proud owner of a Bluebonnet Bumblebee spinning wheel! My husband was already planning on getting me one, but then my brother called him and suggested the whole family pitch in. So, at Christmas, I got the biggest surprise ever! My very own spinning wheel! I had been spinning with a drop spindle, and really liked it, but I was ready to move up to the "big guns"! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIPGgjDCeTv19uL2jZ9jGbtTZKtB6xCC4qbLwv5znHjg7hK0DH4lrawIIAycvCeDGGq_wbITv5NS2G8Y59hDci_-qoyFov2ZSuPPncsZXXKrPNd199-A3isxVXa_Jxo_6vpKgph9EfE3Ju/s1600/IMG_0237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIPGgjDCeTv19uL2jZ9jGbtTZKtB6xCC4qbLwv5znHjg7hK0DH4lrawIIAycvCeDGGq_wbITv5NS2G8Y59hDci_-qoyFov2ZSuPPncsZXXKrPNd199-A3isxVXa_Jxo_6vpKgph9EfE3Ju/s320/IMG_0237.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, here it is:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4ZNV7EdMsDHApw0CPTMdI6i-03qdJOPiRZSpAG__8CZEtIMFF02VBdqEJ-aH-W9DzvG54O1zPPs-RDbcLzX-WXT1eFfvFvjUsDO0eCVZVdQA-shM3BwwBNfYXGbuaQsyrqOBSoKfpMxc/s1600/IMG_0920.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4ZNV7EdMsDHApw0CPTMdI6i-03qdJOPiRZSpAG__8CZEtIMFF02VBdqEJ-aH-W9DzvG54O1zPPs-RDbcLzX-WXT1eFfvFvjUsDO0eCVZVdQA-shM3BwwBNfYXGbuaQsyrqOBSoKfpMxc/s320/IMG_0920.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's a beginner wheel, so that's great for me! I was given some fiber at one of my knitting group's get togethers, and it was green and blue. It was a little felted, but I thought I'd spin it up and see what I came up with. Come to find out-after I spun it all up-that I shouldn't have started with it because it would be a lot harder to spin than most other fibers. Well, you live and you learn! haha! Anyway, here's what I came up with:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;">"Sometimes You're further than the moon<br />Sometimes You're closer than my skin"</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;">This is definitely how I felt last year. There were so many times I felt like God was so far away, and then there were times when he felt so close. It's hard to explain. I could see God in things that happened, but at the same time, I wondered where he was. I mean, why would God allow this to happen? Right?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"> I clung to Ps. 30:11 last year. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;">you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;">It was definitely that scripture that got me through. I had it posted in my kitchen so I would not forget it. And I would be doing dishes or setting the table, and I would look up and see it, and I would remind myself to rejoice in the midst of my sorrow.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;">But coming into 2012, I KNOW this will be a year of His favor. Not just in my life, but also in the lives of my family and friends. Satan will not have a hold on us. Sorrow will not be in control of my life. This</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial; font-size: 11px;"> year I feel like I need a new scripture. I need a scripture to proclaim all year long. Please pray with me about what that should be! </span></div>

So, I've been thinking about how to bring this up, but there's no way to really bring it up lightly... So, here goes....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Richard and I lost the baby. We are no longer pregnant. I'm guessing I was about 6 weeks pregnant when I lost him/her. I woke up Saturday morning to cramping and spotting. They both eventually got worse, and by Sunday afternoon, I knew in my heart the baby was gone. Monday's ultrasound and blood work confirmed it. The ultrasound showed that my uterus was thick, but there was no baby to be found. The doctor kept saying that I could be 3 or 4 weeks pregnant, but that timeline was wrong. I knew I wasn't that early. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We are doing ok. Just as strongly as I knew the baby was gone on Sunday, I also knew that God has in store for us more kids. This isn't the end all, be all. It's just not the right time. He gave us a huge peace about this whole situation. That doesn't take away from the fact that we are bummed. We weren't ready for this baby, but we were SO excited. Another baby is an exciting thing to us! But like I said, we are ok. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My wonderful sister-in-law suggested we name the baby to help with the healing process, so when we broke the news to Jacoby, we asked him if he'd like to name the baby. So, what did he name him/her? Havoc Costello Banshee. So, baby Havoc is a superhero that is now with Jesus. I love my son! He definitely brought some humor to what was a heartbreaking thing. Thank you, Jesus for giving me a son who is the comic relief in the family. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have many things to be thankful for! And God has a plan for us!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Well, since school started, I've been really busy! But not too busy for my love affair with wool! This week I have finished Richard's hat and spun a skein of Superwash Merino and Nylon blend. I'm a little mad at Richard's hat, though. The stupid pattern called for worsted weight yarn, and yet it came out too small! I think it was really supposed to be bulky weight, and for some reason the writers got confused. It happens to the best of us, I suppose! At least it fits the kiddos!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And boy do they look cute in it!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, my next move will be to cast on again (thank the Lord I ordered enough yarn to do so!!) on bigger needles and I'll add more stitches as well. Hopefully this time it'll come out right! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm sure you'd love to see what I did with the fiber I received! Well, I've spun up some of it. Enough to make a little skein (about 60 some yards). I'll spin up some more before I dye it and decide what will become of it! I'm really excited! I spent the morning at my friend, Beth's house, and she helped me wind it into a skein. She'll also be responsible for helping me dye it. What a good friend she is!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will surely post pics once I dye it and such! I could just stare at it all day! It's so pretty! Although, I will tell you this, my spindle is making me SO mad!! It doesn't want to cooperate with me, and I'm wanting to throw it out the window! I really would LOVE a spinning wheel, but it's a ways off. They are a little spendy... Someday!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I thought I'd post some pics of the kids that I thought were just a scream! Enjoy! And happy Monday!</div>

All afternoon I've been singing "Miracle of Miracles". For those who don't know, that song is from Fiddler on the Roof. My favorite movie!! So, why am I singing? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">My fiber is here!!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can now continue spinning the yarn I started! (Thank you to Bethany for giving me a little "sample" of fiber, and to Whitnee for teaching me to spin) I'm making around a DK weight, though I can't be sure because I don't have anything to measure it with. Perhaps I should look into that? ;) So, what to make with it? Maybe a hat for someone special?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Also, I've been hunting for some yarn for a beautiful sweater I found in Interweave. My knitting group is talking about doing a knit-along (KAL), and this sweater is in the running as the project we'll do. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Is it not gorgeous?! I FINALLY found the perfect yarn, and it was on sale no less!! It's a cotton/bamboo blend, and it feels divine!! It's in between white and grey, almost a slate color. I think with the pattern it will be beautiful!! </div>

For now, I've got to finish my hubby's hat. But I've started the decreases, and then I have to make the brim. I'll have pictures posted when I finish!</div>

I didn't realize when I took on this whole school thing, that I would be so busy, but here I am. I couldn't take on another thing even if I wanted to. I guess I have to admit it now: my husband knows what he's talking about. (don't tell him I said that) He's been telling me for months now not to volunteer for anything, or try to do anymore than I'm already doing because "once school starts, you're going to be busy". And boy am I!<br />
<br />
The hardest thing for me is balancing my priorities. Not only am I full time student, but I'm still somewhat a stay at home mom and my church's Children's Church Coordinator. And of course, I have to fit my knitting addiction in there somewhere!<br />
<br />
So, Jacoby started school this year as well, which is surreal! I feel old... He's doing great and learning to write his name!! I'm so proud! But in true Jacoby fashion, in two weeks time he came home with 2 behavior reports. One for biting someone and the other for punching someone in the stomach. When I asked him why he bit someone, he said that they were playing zombies. Of course to him it made perfect sense. And he punched someone because they were power rangers defeating the bad guys. Well, you can't say my son doesn't have imagination! But all great men have imagination, so I guess I should be thankful!<br />
<br />
Eleanor started homecare 2 days a week. God really blessed us here, because we did not have a peace about daycare. This woman that my mom used to work with, started a home childcare. I really didn't think she would have an opening, and after a month and a half of not hearing back from her (and right before school started), we heard back that she had ONE opening! Obviously we took it, and Ella is thriving! So far, no behavior reports from her. But trust me, give it time! She is one feisty lady!<br />
<br />
Richard is now at the University of Arkansas. He is still full time student and full time employee for Hewlett Packard. He is happy where he's at. And I'm so thankful that he is happy. Just 2 years, and he is a graduate! We are very excited about that!<br />
<br />
So, as you can see, the Costello house is full of people going in all directions! We look forward to some down time, but for now, I'm enjoying the busy. I haven't been "busy" for quite some time.<br />
<br />
Oh, and I'm throwing a baby shower this weekend! Next blog: all my decorations and such!!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09862147165067841770noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576530515932508573.post-32097494220804009942011-08-19T12:50:00.000-07:002011-08-19T12:50:11.890-07:00Holy Knit, Batman!<div style="text-align: center;">
I have literally been a knitting fool lately! I knit up three hats so far, and I'm waiting on the yarn for a hat for my hubby. Plus I just cast on for a shawl/kerchief. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But my newest obsession has got to be spinning! I spent 3 hours spinning up a little swatch the other night and fell in love. I cannot wait to get more fiber so that I can spin some more. Then what will I make with it? The possibilities are endless! </div>

Unload all my self-pity. Call it hormones, call it lack of sleep, maybe my feelings are totally rational (most likely not). Whatever you call it is not important. I'm sick of allowing these same thoughts to invade my mind and cause me heartache over and over again! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I was on my way home this evening from my cousins wedding, and I just kept replaying all these things in my mind. Then, out of nowhere (ok, that's not true, my God is so good!), my morning devotions popped into my head. They were so good this morning, I got to thinking it's about time I put into practice what I read. So here goes. I want to share with all of you an excerpt from my journal.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Matthew 9:18-22</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love the passage about the woman with a blood issue. It had to have taken great courage and great faith to do what she did. Not just that, but perseverance as well. After seeing a multitude of physicians and getting no better (Mark 5:25-34, Luke 8:43-48), she knew her only hope was Jesus. But to touch a rabbi while bleeding was considered unclean. Yet her faith kept her going. And because of that, she was healed. I know that sometimes my faith is lacking. It's hard to wrap your brain around this invisible power, but when you step out in faith, miracles happen. Muster up your courage, step out in faith, and never give up! Then you will "be of good cheer".</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So, this is me, mustering up my courage, stepping out in faith, and determining to let go of those hurts. I'm giving them to the Father. I'm touching His garment, and receiving that joy that He has promised me.</div>Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09862147165067841770noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576530515932508573.post-46308101082466207272011-06-02T21:59:00.000-07:002011-06-02T21:59:50.653-07:00Summer time!!<div style="text-align: center;">I have been waiting for so long for this time to come! He said something today that had me in stitches, so then I had to go through all my old posts on Facebook and find some of the other funny things he's said. I thought I'd share. Here's what he said today:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Grandma: Jacoby, where's my kiss?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: I put it on my lips so you wouldn't forget it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">He's so funny! So, here's some of the things he's said in the past.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: Mom, I gotta drop a teuce!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Richard: Do you mean 'deuce'?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: I'm just doin' my thing, eatin' my food.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Me: Your thing is eating your food?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: no...</div><div style="text-align: center;">Me: Well, then what is your thing?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: Movin' and grovin'!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Ella started fussing, so I state that she must be hungry. Jacoby said he wanted to feed her.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I asked him if he wanted to (and hands him the baby food).</div><div style="text-align: center;">He then lifts up his shirt and proclaims to the world: "Yeah, I can!! I've got boobs!!"</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: Mommy, this macaroni is giving me the craps!"</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: God told me I have burger-ass.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Me: You mean 'Aspergers'?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Jacoby: Yeah, but I told him I didn't. I am just made of meat.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">My boy is just so funny! I thoroughly enjoy listening to him talk. He thinks everything out, and is SO literal! He's just like his daddy, which is both unnerving and so wonderful! I'm thankful for the little man God gave me!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4SD9LzM-Wxd6zXu9yQkNEld6QpCgNb-5Kuj73XbkqgV1U312LiqAB9GXoxQi3u6usRbcNlxnuouY0I4TVtsY4QOyOHktf-VyqOAroU_Uhqa1rDAoAcklt_yLtrSPl7eAGtxuhmWLS523D/s1600/PICT1699.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4SD9LzM-Wxd6zXu9yQkNEld6QpCgNb-5Kuj73XbkqgV1U312LiqAB9GXoxQi3u6usRbcNlxnuouY0I4TVtsY4QOyOHktf-VyqOAroU_Uhqa1rDAoAcklt_yLtrSPl7eAGtxuhmWLS523D/s320/PICT1699.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09862147165067841770noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576530515932508573.post-64544691933242991882011-05-20T20:32:00.000-07:002011-05-20T20:32:21.029-07:00Cutting Corners<div style="text-align: center;">I've been watching "Extreme Couponing" on TLC a lot lately. So, my hubby and I decided after watching some episodes that this extreme couponing was just the thing for us. We immediately began to make preparations for this new venture. Then we realized that we live in Walmart country. Prices are already slashed (things are cheaper there than our ONE other grocery store), so for now, I will use my coupons in a non-extreme way, and just save some money here and there. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I went looking for something to put my coupons in, but well, I didn't find anything I liked. What do I do in a situation like this? Make my own! Growing up, whenever I liked something in the store mom would always look at the price and then say, "I could make that for cheaper." Apparently my grandmother was the same way. So, here I am continuing the "tradition". And I will most likely drive my children nuts with it! Anyway, I came home from the grocery store (walmart) today, put the kids down for a nap, and went digging through my fabric stash. Here's what I came up with:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQOiUwpYHbsVK_oJTL2A-QZbMfd9d74ooDq_8gHhTc2zGyIJCEiwDZazsHCgjql0URULEJer2uY1ij6eH7aLZNPJHHNK29yxEyKvmFBBXWQU6UDs8L2QApO8QfytBFu25Ss4-lwVgQ4hZ/s1600/PICT1795.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQOiUwpYHbsVK_oJTL2A-QZbMfd9d74ooDq_8gHhTc2zGyIJCEiwDZazsHCgjql0URULEJer2uY1ij6eH7aLZNPJHHNK29yxEyKvmFBBXWQU6UDs8L2QApO8QfytBFu25Ss4-lwVgQ4hZ/s320/PICT1795.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHlv5o340hp1r8yPMW8q_ZZVInCPrcrsW0sbiQ_q1k_BNIxb3BwLm3ptK6DL5LVIV5l0nIVK7zZMg_Pj9RgAjNYnFQQxPAYhHXwa-2n_rlGS1A0FbRWOWt24pi390fqz8TMkRZf0-KedpE/s1600/PICT1796.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHlv5o340hp1r8yPMW8q_ZZVInCPrcrsW0sbiQ_q1k_BNIxb3BwLm3ptK6DL5LVIV5l0nIVK7zZMg_Pj9RgAjNYnFQQxPAYhHXwa-2n_rlGS1A0FbRWOWt24pi390fqz8TMkRZf0-KedpE/s320/PICT1796.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">It's 15" x 9". I went the quilted route. So, I used 3 different fabrics of the same color scheme. We'll call them color A, color B, and color C. A and B will be the main body, and C is the binding. For those of you quilters out there, I used 3 Fat Quarters. Basically, it's a larger cut 1/4 of a yard. I also used some batting. Which you can get at Hobby Lobby or Walmart. I took color A, color B, and the batting and cut them into pieces measuring 15" x 9". Then I took color C and cut them into strips 2" long. After cutting all my fabric, I put color A down (wrong side facing up), then the batting, then color B (right side facing up). Now for the quilting. Basically you are just sewing all three pieces together. You can sew lines or get fancy. I traced the print. At this point, I would put your closings on. Whether it be velcro, snaps, or buttons and button holes. I then made the binding. Which I would Youtube how to do that, because if I try to explain it, I'll most likely confuse you! Once your binding is all ready, put a strip of it on one end, then fold up that end to make a pocket. Then go all the way around the coupon holder with the binding. Start at one end (where you folded it) and go to the other end. And Ta da! You are done! </div><div style="text-align: center;">Well, all that's left is making the dividers. which you can use card stock or poster board to do. Enjoy. Your very own, unique coupon holder!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

So, one breakfast I KNOW they will love is cinnamon muffins! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb8MNYiLDqZ9EIleLy8k3GX-afjxt7t1qd3PQ7nrRqgxJGLwe6Vl_gYT_DK72bhzoscnjvumCQBHBOOf1SWufw1y_IlF7vINI2WQ2qwUi5vE1jmpxYzO_0c7sm2s_OGCGQ6FR5gRt9GmCM/s1600/PICT1761.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb8MNYiLDqZ9EIleLy8k3GX-afjxt7t1qd3PQ7nrRqgxJGLwe6Vl_gYT_DK72bhzoscnjvumCQBHBOOf1SWufw1y_IlF7vINI2WQ2qwUi5vE1jmpxYzO_0c7sm2s_OGCGQ6FR5gRt9GmCM/s320/PICT1761.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">They go over extremely well in our house! So, I thought I'd share the recipe! Here goes:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 Cups Flour</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Cup Sugar</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Tablespoon Baking Powder</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 Tablespoons Cinnamon</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Cup (and a scant) Milk</div><div style="text-align: center;">6 Tablespoons Butter</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Heat oven to 375-400 degrees. (I do 375, but my oven gets really hot.) Mix the first 4 ingredients, then add milk and melted butter. If it needs more milk, just add a little (hence the 'scant'). You can add an egg if you want. (I don't...but you can!) Put mixture into your greased muffin pans, and bake for 15-20 minutes. (I do 15 minutes, but again, my oven is really hot) This recipe makes around 16 muffins.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

When searching for a name, I thought of Mewithoutyou's Paper-Hanger. I was once dead, but by the grace of God, I am alive! I was consumed once in my pain, but the moment I first believed, Christ took that pain from me.<br />
<br />
Last night my church had their Good Friday service. One statement stood out in particularly. Christ's statement. "It is finished". Amazing to me, because to me it means Life. He becoming our atonement for sin, we were no longer guilty. He become guilt for us, and yet the effects of his act continue on. I am alive, I am not subject to the old law. He saved me from my sin, from my pain, from death. Thank you, Lord, for your sacrifice!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09862147165067841770noreply@blogger.com3
